Welcome to Ms. Martin's Page

Hello Parents!

My name is Dana Martin and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new resource room teacher at Coolidge.  I will be working with your child and his/her teachers to support them in every way, helping them to be a successful student and have a fantastic year together!

So, the burning question I’m sure is… who am I?  I am a very energetic, positive, and friendly person.  I enjoy being active, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and living life to the fullest.  I graduated from Eastern Michigan in 2010 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education.  Currently I am finishing my Masters Degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders.  For the past 4 years, I was a resource room teacher at a middle & high school in Ann Arbor.  Prior to that, all of my student teaching and substitute teaching experiences were with elementary kiddos.  I attended Livonia schools all my life (Cleveland Elementary, Emerson Middle School, Churchill High School), completed both student teaching semesters in Livonia (at Cass and Riley), subbed throughout the district, went to Ann Arbor for 4 years, and now am beyond excited to be “back home”.  I live in Livonia and my daughter Savannah attends Hayes in 3rd grade.   I have always loved Livonia schools and am so happy to be a part of the team again!

I have known since 2nd grade that teaching was the job for me.  I truly love working with kids and look forward to the year with your child.  I couldn’t ask for a better job in the world and hope that I will make a difference in your child’s life as I know each of them will in mine.

I feel communication with you is a MUST, so please contact me anytime with questions or concerns.  You can reach me at dmartin10@livoniapublicschools.org  I check this email multiple times a day, & will respond back promptly.  You can also call me at the school (734) 744-2705 ext. 15609, however e-mail is definitely the best way to reach me.

I am looking forward to a WONDERFUL year with our amazing team at Coolidge.  GO COUGARS!!!
